Linux.com seems to be an obvious palace to go, but I notice that members are reluctant to post comments or supply info in assistance. There are posts that have has over 150 views and more without a single comment. Is it not the object of forums to exchange and engage. Leaving a member out on a limb is rude and frustrating. Share your knowledge and experience..........................................

Deel949, I try to help when I can but I can not give bogus advice when somebody give me a question that is usually termed as "It won't boot" or not give enough info to troubleshoot a problem. I am also not all Knowing like in the Wizard of Oz.

I really have very little knowledge to share but what I have I do take the time out to share freely. Just click on my name to see how tech savvy I am.

I suggest instead of pointing out inadequacies of forum members who may not be all knowing and may not know the answer to everything, you take a risk and start answering posts and help. I see that you have only posted 3 times since you have joined since Aug 31. I just joined this forum in July.

Welcome to the forum and have a nice day.

Linux.com forum rules, point 8:

8. Be polite and wait patiently for others to reply. Some users look at unanswered topics to help. If you post a "why are there so many views but no replies" message to your own thread, your thread is no longer listed as "unanswered." We promise people don't have a grudge against you, and they certainly won't hold out on you. Be patient -- someone will reply sooner or later. Being rude does not guarantee a speedier response.

And perhaps RTFM in the meanwhile - the "fabulous manual" in this case being 'Introduction to Linux' found at:

I've been solving a lot more problems since delving into the the murky waters of command lines and the file system.
