I got the dual boot option right away and havent had any probs yet. However, I wanted to get the 3d cube up and running and learned that Kubuntu was best to run that in. When you boot, there is a little icon at the bottom right of the Username login screen. Kinda looks like a filing cabinet. If you click that, you can choose to boot into Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Xubuntu. I noticed that Xubuntu has a look and somewhat the same feel of windows. Really easy to work with. Other than that, I dont know of much difference. Of course, I am new to Ubuntu as well.
