Subject: Error with Update Manager!!

I have 215 new updates to download onto my computer... when i try to it says:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

if anyone knows what that means or how to solve this problem.. please reply!

did you try running the command it said to? :)
Open a console, su to root and run:
dpkg --configure -a
