Me Joined: Jul 06, 2008 Posts: 1 Other Topics	Posted Jul 06, 2008 at 1:08:20 AM Subject: Updating virus scan and other programs When I try to update AVG anti-virus, I get a message that I don't have permission to do so . I try to manually update, and get error messages. I am new to Linux. I am running CentOS 5. Please help.

You most likely have to do that as root. At a command line, type su then give your root password. Then try your update. Take the red pill www.calacademy.org/blogs
